Fix Hey Siri Not Working in iOS 16

Siri has become one of the most beloved digital assistants in recent years. It’s not just because it makes you feel like Iron Man, but because it also saves time and helps you get things done faster. With the latest version of iOS, Siri can do even more things for you, such as make an appointment, find a photo from a specific date, respond to queries about current news, and more. The only downside is that with all these new features and responsibilities, Siri can also have its kryptonite moment from time to time – especially when it comes to Hey Siri. Fortunately, there are ways to fix hey siri not working in iOS 16 so that you can activate Siri with just your voice alone whenever you need her help. Let’s take a look at how you can get her back on duty again…

Check Your Mic and Speaker

If you’re having issues with Hey Siri, it might be that your device is having a hard time hearing you. You can check your microphone before you get started. To do this, go to Settings > General > Accessibility > Voice > Microphone and make sure that the slider is green. This means that your mic is working properly. If the slider is red, it means that your mic is either muted or broken and you need to fix it. You can also check your device volume. Make sure that it’s turned all the way up, and that there isn’t any ambient noise that might be preventing you from being heard. This includes items like a running fan, a refrigerator, or anything that’s been left on, in your home.

Reset Network Settings

If you’re having issues with Hey Siri, and you know that your iPhone’s mic, or speakers are working fine, you may want to reset your network settings. This will delete any settings that are causing problems and create a fresh start for your device.

To Reset Network Setting

Tap on iPhone Settings

Tap on General

Tap on Transfer & Reset

Tap on Reset Network Settings Enter our Passcode.

You’ll be asked to confirm this action, and when you’re done, your iPhone will reset its network settings, deleting all saved data and restoring your phone to a new state. After this, your device will reboot, and you don’t have to worry about resetting anything else.

Rebooting Your Device

If resetting your network settings didn’t work, it’s time to reboot your device. You can reboot your iPhone by pressing and holding both the Power and Home buttons at the same time. Hold the buttons until the phone resets. This will take around 10-15 seconds and you’ll see the Apple logo appear on the screen. Once your device reboots, all your settings will be restored, and you should be able to activate Hey Siri again. If you’re still having issues with Hey Siri after a reboot, it may be a good idea to check for software updates. You can do this from the same screen where you find the Reset Network Settings option.

Check for Software Updates

If you’re on iOS 16 and you haven’t updated to iOS 16.1 yet, you may want to check for updates and install the latest version of iOS to see if that solves the problem.

Tap on Settings

Tap General

Tap on Software Update.

If Apple has a new version available, you’ll see a prompt asking if you want to update your phone. Click on Download & Install Enter Your Passcode. If you don’t see an update prompt, you can also tap “Check for Update” to manually check whether a new version is available. If there’s a new version, you can tap “Download and Install” to get the update.

Identify Any Known Issues

If nothing you do seems to fix the Hey Siri issue on your iPhone, you may have a hardware problem. If this is the case, you’ll need to contact Apple Support and get your phone repaired or replaced. If you don’t have AppleCare+, you can contact Apple Support to get help. Alternatively, you can also check the Apple Support Community to see if others are experiencing the same issue. You may find out that you’re not alone and that a solution has been discovered.

Siri is one of the most powerful digital assistants out there. It can help you get things done, tell you about the weather, set reminders, and even translate languages. You can activate Siri by saying “Hey Siri” or pressing the Siri button on your iPhone, iPad, or other devices. However, sometimes Siri might not respond to your commands. If this happens, you can try to fix it by checking your mic and speaker, resetting your network settings, and rebooting your device. If nothing works, you should identify any known issues and contact Apple Support if you need help.
